Gustaf Rosenberg is a playful, receptive and responsive piano player, always ready to give something more to what happens in just that moment of the music. He’s a rising star in Malmö aspiring on the European jazz scene.
He started playing jazz at the age of fifteen as he started high school. After moving to the south of Sweden to study at Skurups Folkhögskola and living two years Copenhagen to experience a city where jazz lives firsthand, he moved back to Sweden to Malmö where he formed his quartet Amalia and started his academic studies at Malmö Music Academy.
What characterizes Gustaf Rosenberg is a great flexibility in styles, a striking harmonic sense, he’s a creative player and composer and a responsible and reactive accompanist. This has led him to be a popular sideman, as he receives almost any music with as much passion, as well as a confident bandleader always providing freedom for bandmembers to express themselves within the composed music.
